Scripture Reading:1 John 5:-6
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
Reflections: The Apostle John draws our attention to the fact that no matter what happens, light remains incompatible with darkness. He then likens righteousness to light and sin to darkness and establishes the overriding standpoint that righteousness cannot coexist with sin. Following this, he posits God as pure light without a trace of darkness. Put together, John drums home the truth that no one can claim to have a relationship with God who is light (righteousness) and remain in darkness (sin) at the same time. The undeniable truth is that you are incompatible with sin and that your life must ably demonstrate it.
Prayer: Thank you Lord that I am made to be incompatible with sin. Help me demonstrate it all the time.
Confession: I am incompatible with sin. My life demonstrates it.
