Scripture Reading: 1 John 5:4
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Reflection: Positionally, we have been made overcomers by virtue of our being born again. To overcome means to succeed in dealing with a problem or difficulty. An overcomer is therefore somebody who wins all the time no matter the battle that he/she faces. Our position as overcomers, according to the Apostle John, demands a demonstration of faith in order to become a reality. The faithless man can therefore never be an overcomer in reality. For instance, in the story of the healing of the epileptic boy in Matthew 17:14-20, the disciples failed in their mission because they could not put their faith into action. On the other hand, in the story of the woman with the issue of blood for 10 years (Matthew 9:19-22), we notice that she received instant healing and overcame the condition when she put her faith into action. This demonstration of her faith received commendation from Jesus. The message is clear- You cannot be an overcomer until you put your faith in demonstration. Just step out in faith!
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me overcome what hinders me from putting my faith into action.
Confession: I am an overcomer. I will always put my faith into action. I remain a winner over any life challenge.
