Scripture Reading: 2 Kings 6:16
And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
Reflections: Syria’s king desired to strike Israel. Each time he attempts to seize the king of Israel by luring him into a trap, he fails. As he pondered the source of Israel’s miraculous escapes, he realized that Elisha’s prophetic ministry was responsible. He dispatched his army to seize Elisha. As the troops neared Elisha’s home, it became certain that he would be taken prisoner. However, this was an illusion. Elisha had an invisible defense that was unknown to the soldiers. God had sent chariots of fire and horses to encircle him, building an impregnable fortress. The servant of Elisha who was first terrified about the Syrian invasion became calm after Elisha prayed for him and enabled him to see the supernatural protection. He now completely comprehended what Elisha meant when he urged him earlier not to be afraid because ‘those with them were more than those who were against them’. As an obedient child of God, don’t ever for get that those with you are more than those who are against you! You are covered!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that those with me are more than those who are against me.
Confession: Those with me are more than those who are against me.
