Scripture Reading: Rom 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Reflections: To be ashamed means ‘to be distressed or embarrassed by feelings of guilt, foolishness, or disgrace’. In life you can be ashamed of things that fail or make you fail. You may not want to have anything to do with life again. This is not the case of the gospel as revealed by Paul. His submission shows that the power of the gospel to save does not fail and hence cannot make you feel ashamed. It saves the sinful, transforms and brings them to a place of glory. Once you are unashamed about something, you talk about it and you live by it. Don’t treat the gospel as if you are ashamed of it. No one ever died and resurrected to save mankind except Jesus. That is the gospel. Remember it’s power is matchless. Like Paul, remain unashamed. Live it, talk about it, preach it and let it be your guide.
Prayer: Dear lord, I thank you that the power of the gospel is intact. I am unashamed of the gospel.
Confession: I remain unashamed about the gospel. I live it, talk about it and preach it
