Scripture Reading: Genesis 3:3-4
But of the fruit of the tree in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Reflections: The conversation appeared to be sweet and devoid of any malicious intent. Somehow Eve fell in line with the submission of the devil concerning the forbidden fruit. She agreed with the devil that there was nothing wrong with eating it. After all, she was not going to die. Later she realised how loosed and unwise she had been. She could not believe she had allowed herself to be used by the devil to achieve his scheme of getting Adam to be stripped of his glory. Like Eve, you may play naivety and will not consciously and sincerely seek to know why people give you a particular advice line or tell you what they say about others. By the time you realise, you may have been used to satisfy their impulses. The only way is to subject whatever advice or counsel people give you to the will/word before you act. Don’t play naivety!
Prayer: Dear Lord, please let me not fall into the evil plans of people who will seek to use me to achieve their aims.
Confession: I don’t play naivety. I subject what people tell me to do to the word of God before I act.
