Scripture Reading: Luke 5:29 And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.
Reflections: A collector of public revenue in Israel was referred to as a publican. They were viewed as corrupt and therefore despised in the society. They were also considered as pagan allies. In fact nobody wanted to be associated with them. it must have been therefore a huge surprise for Levi to be invited by Jesus to join his team of disciples. This was a major shift in his destiny. In appreciation for this rare gesture, he organized a party to honor Jesus. A great number of publicans attended the event. This reciprocal gesture of Levi created a destiny changing moment for these other publicans. They were also going to encounter salvation and healing through the ministry of Jesus. Like Levi, a great way of expressing gratitude to God for the salvation of your own soul is to create soul destiny changing opportunities for others as well!
