Scripture Reading: Matthew 2:13
And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

Reflections: Every individual is born with a unique purpose, which can be defined as the reason for their existence. When the wise men discovered the purpose of Christ’s birth, they happily visited the baby and showed their support for his existence. However, when Herod learned of the child’s purpose, he felt threatened and attempted to kill the child. God instructed Joseph to take the child to Egypt until the danger had passed. Just as some people will rise to support your life’s purpose, others will seek to oppose you. While it is essential to pray for those who support your purpose, it is also crucial to consistently pray against the schemes of those who seek to oppose your purpose and even your existence.

Prayer: Let the efforts of those who are in opposition to the purpose of my life scatter.

Confession: Those who are in opposition to the purpose of my life will never succeed.
