Scripture Reading: Psalm 126: 1-2
When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them in that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
Reflections: The Psalmist recalled the miraculous visitation of the Lord that delivered Israel from captivity. His narrative of the entire incident describes a breakthrough that occurred unexpectedly, especially since there was no prior indication that it would happen. It made the Israelites believe they were dreaming while experiencing a new reality. This, as stressed by the Psalmist, induced them to laugh and sing for joy. Such a feat, as he finally submitted, was even acknowledged by the heathen (ungodly) as unprecedented, validating the God of Israel as supreme. Like Israel, God will change your circumstances amid inhibiting factors. While this will cause you to laugh and sing, it will also compel the ungodly around you or your enemies to recognise God as the ultimate! God will surely turn your life around!
Prayer: Dear Lord, turn my life around with such an unexpected move that people around me will acknowledge that you are God!
Confession: God will turn my life around for his supremacy to be acknowledged.
