And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.
Reflection: On arrival of Silas and Timotheus to the city of Corinth, Paul suddenly felt a pressing in his spirit to preach the gospel specifically to the Jews. ‘Pressed in the spirit’ refers to a deep burden you feel in you which drives you to do something in conformity to the will of God. It may either restrain you or urge you to go ahead with something. It is one of the ways by which we are led by the Spirit of God. By being pressed in your spirit, you can be led by the Holy Spirit to escape danger, offer out help to others, keep a matter to yourself etc. The Holy Spirit still leads!
