Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Reflections: ‘Thought’ is the action or process of thinking. It is the “idea or opinion produced by thinking, or occurring suddenly in the mind”. Your thoughts at the end of the day will drive you into action. As a result it is always important to get your thoughts and that of others concerning you aligned to the will of God. One way of doing this is by spiritual warfare. Paul shows us how, in his letter to the Corinthians. In his submission, we must use the ‘weapons of our spiritual warfare’ to bring every thought to the obedience of Christ’. By implication, whenever you find out that your thoughts or someone else’s thought concerning you is going contrary to the will of God, you must call it back to order through prayer. The prayer will releases an unseen spiritual authority and weapon which will disengage your mind from that negative thought. Don’t allow your thoughts to go wayward. You must align it to the divine will through warfare prayers.
Prayer: By the weapons of my spiritual warfare in Christ Jesus, I align my thoughts to the divine will. I pull down any strong hold in my mind.
Confession: By the weapons of my warfare I hold my own thoughts and that of others concerning my life captive to the divine will.
