Scripture Reading: Joshua 2:15-16
Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall. And she said unto them, Get you to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers be returned: and afterward may ye go your way.

Reflections: The two spies Joshua sent out discovered their lives were in danger when they arrived in Jericho. The King had uncovered news about their identity and mission and had sent troops after them. However, their host, a woman named Rahab, hid them on the roof of her house when the soldiers arrived. The following morning, she helped them escape by tying a rope to the frame of her window. Even though she was a native of Jericho, Rahab proved to be a God-fearing helper who came through when needed. Her commitment and resourcefulness allowed her to provide a way of escape for the spies. Divine providence can bring a helper like Rahab into your life, even if they come from the camp of your enemies.
