As we listen to the prayer of David, after he had suffered the loss of his family, kinsmen and properties, we see a man who will not settle down to a life of defeat. His urge to get to war to recover is unwavering and this is key to living a life of victory. God’s answer to David’s enquiry even validates this frame of mind. His approval for David to pursue his enemies and the victory he assured him is enough to prove that He does not want his children to settle down to a life of defeat. Like David, some areas of your life may have suffered or is suffering defeat. It may be your health, finances, marriage, relationship, career, ministry etc etc. Don’t ever accept to remain in that condition. God is on your side. Fight back to recover through prayer and strategic measures that God will show you. Respond to the prophetic voice of Isaiah 52:1-2 saying ‘ Awake, awake; put on thy strength, Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, loose thyself from the bands of thy neck’ and get to work. You shall surely recover all! Don’t ever settle down to a life of defeat!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me recover every loss in my life. Let me not settle down to a life of defeat.
Confession: I will never settle down to a life of defeat. I am an overcomer. I recover any loss in my life.
Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 30:8
And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
