Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:12
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ

Reflections: In his letter to the Corinthian church, Paul informed them that, among others, the primary responsibility of the ministers of God is to nurture and prepare members of the church to do the work of the ministry. According to this proposition, as each church member takes up their respective responsibilities as workers of the church, they will enlarge and build up the body of Christ. This submission establishes two critical things of interest to every believer. The first is that it is such a privilege and mandate to serve in God’s house. The second is that God designed each church member to find something to do in their local church that promotes the kingdom and its wellbeing. This calls for the need for you to periodically review your life as a church member to determine whether you are in line with the divine mandate of doing the work of the ministry. God never intends that you become a mere church member; Keep doing the work of the ministry!
