Scripture Reading: Genesis 49:22-24
“Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel).”
Reflections: Joseph’s life is a powerful testimony of resilience, faith, and God’s unchanging promise. He endured betrayal, false accusations, imprisonment, and hatred from his brothers. Yet, he held on and remained steadfast. In Genesis 49:22-24, Jacob describes Joseph as a fruitful vine planted by a well, with branches that overcame obstacles, symbolizing his ability to flourish despite trials. Joseph’s strength wasn’t his own. It came from the mighty hand of God, who upheld and empowered him in every season. No matter the trials you face, do not give up. Like Joseph, you are called to flourish beyond the walls of adversity. Let God’s mighty hand strengthen you. He will turn your struggles into testimonies and your trials into triumphs. Happy New year!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank You for Your sustaining strength.
Confession: My strength is renewed by the mighty hand of God.
