Scripture Reading: Acts 6:2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them and said, It is not the reason that we should leave the word of God and serve tables
Reflections: As the church increased numerically, some members expressed discontent regarding the daily food distribution. The demand for the leadership role of the apostles, therefore, became daunting. They devised a strategy after realising that the current situation had the potential to distract them from their primary mandate of devoting themselves to prayer, study, and the preaching of the word. The strategy called for the installation of a new set of church leaders devoted explicitly to the welfare needs of the church. This plan of delegation of authority worked out perfectly. It liberated and prevented them from losing focus, allowing the church to advance even more quickly. Like the Apostles, you must be cautious not to spread yourself too thin in any leadership position you undertake. Focus on your primary objective and learn to delegate tasks to others.
Prayer: Oh Lord, please assist me in delegating responsibilities whenever necessary.
Confession: Delegation helps me focus on important things.
