Scripture Reading: 2 Sam 3:8-9
So do God to Abner, and more also, except, as the LORD hath sworn to David, even so I do to him;To translate the kingdom from the house of Saul, and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beersheba
Reflections: Saul’s death set the stage for David to be enthroned as King over both Judah and Israel in accordance to God’s prophetic word. Abner, Saul’s army commander however stood in the way of David and made this impossible. He enthroned Ishbosheth, Saul’s son as King over Israel instead. This limited the kingdom of David to only Judah. However one day, confusion erupted between Abner and Ishbosheth. Ishbosheth accused him wrongly and this got him infuriated. The infuriation turned to the advantage of David. It caused Abner to respond to God’s prophetic word concerning David. He broke his alliance with Ishbosheth and swore to turn over the kingdom of Israel over to David. By this, the stumbling block to David’s destiny was over. Like David, those who act as stumbling blocks to your destiny will be turned around by God to favor your course! Indeed God can turn around any situation!
Prayer: Oh Lord, confuse anyone who stands in opposition to my life and let the confusion turn to my advantage.
Confession: Those who act as stumbling blocks to my livelihood and success in life will be turned around by God to favor my course.
