Thursday, 29th February 2024: You are capable of doing everything God calls you to do!

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:32 -34
And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Reflections: The Book of Hebrews describes several astonishing exploits performed by various people, including subduing kingdoms, stopping lions’ mouths, and quenching the violence of fire. These activities appeared difficult, but they were successfully performed and completed. God led the heroes to complete each of their duties. Consider the story of Gideon. God asked him to overthrow the oppression of the Midianites, who had terrified Gideon and the rest of Israel. Gideon thought he couldn’t do it (Judges 6:14-16), but in the end, with only 300 men, he defeated the enormous and sophisticated Midianite army (Judges 7:19-25). This story of Gideon, like many others, indicates that while some activities may appear impossible, they can be made attainable if God prompts you to initiate them. In this regard, understand that you are capable of doing everything God calls you to do!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to understand that I can do whatever you want me to do.

Confession: I can do whatever God calls me to do.
