Scripture Reading: Genesis 22:5
And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.
Reflections: Abraham received a clear instruction from God to offer up his only son, Isaac as a burnt sacrifice. Without resisting this heartbreaking command, Abraham sets off to execute it. He took along two servants, firewood for the altar and of course Isaac. Both Isaac and his servants had no idea of his plan. He had only told them he needed to go and offer a sacrifice to God as he normally practices. The journey took three days. Upon sighting the location for the sacrifice from a distance, Abraham ordered his two servants to wait behind as he went up yonder with the lad to worship. Abraham took this decision because he knew the two men were never going to allow him to kill Isaac and thus end up interfering with the will of God for his life. It is important to know that some people around you can interfere with the will of God for your life. Like Abraham, you must not only keep information God shares with you away from such individuals but also disengage yourself from them as appropriate. Until you do this, you will be hindered from pleasing God. This will ultimately impede your access to divine blessings. Be mindful of those who can hinder you from obeying the voice of God!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to take note of those who will hinder me from performing your will and get them disengaged from my life.
Confession: I am mindful of those who can hinder me from obeying the voice of God.
