Thursday, 28th November 2019: Yield to your calling as a saint!

Scripture Reading: Phil 4:21-22
Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.22 All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar’s household.

Reflections: In his letter to Philemon, Paul refers to the brethren who were alive as saints. This has implications. Translated from the Greek word ‘hagios’, ‘saint means ‘sacred or set apart’. It serves as a reminder to all believers saved by the Lord Jesus Christ that they have been set apart for holy use. Thus as a child of God, you are not just saved but also mandated to set yourself aside to be used by God for a holy purpose ( 2 Tim 2:20-21). It is therefore not enough to be just known as a Christian and a ‘pew warmer’ at church. You need to progress to the stage of actively living a holy life where you allow God to use you as His vessel to advance the kingdom. It is time to yield to your calling as a saint!

Prayer: Lord prepare me to be a living sanctuary set aside for your use.

Confession: I yield to my calling as a saint. I am a yielded holy vessel for the Lord’s use.
