Scripture Reading: Psalm 67:5-6
Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

Reflections: It is important that the Earth provides conditions that are conducive to human survival, as it is our home. In the Bible, the Psalmist refers to this as the ‘earth yielding her increase’. If the Earth becomes incapable of supporting life, it will become unbearable for humans. Therefore, we need to work towards making the Earth more productive. The Psalmist suggests that one way to achieve this is through praising God. Praising God, among others, involves acknowledging his greatness through words of adoration, songs, dance, and righteous living. By praising God, we bring attention to his glory; in return, the Earth will continue to yield its increase. So, let’s never stop giving praise to God!

Prayer: Oh Lord, let the earth yield her increase as I praise you.

Confession: I will not cease praising God. Let the earth yield her increase.
