Scripture Reading: Isaiah 56:10-11
His security guards are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark, sleep, lie down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their way, everyone for his gain, from his quarter.

Reflections: Isaiah referred to the spiritual leaders of Israel as dumb and greedy dogs. A dumb dog does not provide a warning about impending danger to the household. A greedy dog only thinks about food and focuses on it, thereby forgetting its core function as a watchdog. If your watchdog at home becomes dumb and greedy, your household will be in danger. Armed robbers and other forms of enemies can have a field day as they access your compound. Such was the spiritual situation of Israel, and God became angry with the spiritual leaders. These leaders were only interested in making money at church and living comfortably and failed to teach the truth and warn the people of the consequences of unrighteousness. Due to this, the people wallowed in moral depravity and fell prey to their enemies. Like Israel, you will find yourself in trouble if your pastor becomes a Dumb and Greedy dog! Pray for pastors today!

Prayer: Oh Lord, keep my pastor from becoming dumb and greedy lest I find myself in danger.

Confession: God will keep my pastor away from becoming dumb and greedy. I will be held on the path of righteousness all the time.
