And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Reflections: In the realms of the spirit, demons are at work to disrupt the course of our livelihood on earth. However they will only be successful if the one they oppose fails to resist them. In resisting demons and their works, the Apostle Paul highlights the need for the child of God to live in complete obedience to the will of God. He tells the church to be ever ready ‘to revenge all disobedience, when our obedience is fulfilled’. Obedience speaks of compliance. Compliance is the action of complying to a given command or standards. Thus despite our access to superior spiritual authority and weapons, one’s victory in spiritual warfare is actually dependent on how well one’s lifestyle complies with scriptures. Reflect on the case of the 7 sons of Sceva who fled out of the house naked and wounded after trying to confront a demon (Acts 19:14-16). Keep living a life of complete obedience!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to live in complete obedience to your word.
