Scripture Reading: Luke 1:24 -25
And after those days his wife Elizabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying, Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.
Reflections: Soon after the visit of angel Gabriel, Elizabeth, wife of Zachariah the priest suddenly found out she was pregnant. What was intriguing was the fact that she had gone past child bearing age. As she looked at her 5 month old pregnancy she began to recall the reproach she had endured over the years. Barrenness had created this condition but now she knew it was all over. God had amazingly dealt with it. Reproach is a condition that allows people to make derogatory remarks about you and laugh at you. The testimony of Elizabeth however points to the fact those reproached in life can be delivered and their condition reversed completely by God. God is still in the business of dealing with reproaches. Thank and ask Him for such an intervention. Like Elizabeth, you will no longer become a laughing stock in life. Your reproach will be taken away.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for your divine power that delivers me from reproaches.
Confession: Any reproach in my life is taken away by God. I will not be a laughing stock among people.
