Thursday, 26th November 2020: Flow with God’s will!

Scripture Reading: John 18:11. Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
Reflections: A band of men proceeded to arrest Jesus. Jesus knew this was the will of God so He did not resist the arrest. However, Peter could not bear to see this happen so he attacked one of the men, Malchus and cut off his ear with his knife. Peter was ready to defy the authorities present and to stop them from arresting Jesus. Surprisingly, Jesus ordered him to stop. He got him to understand that He must be allowed to ‘drink what has been placed in His cup by His Father ‘, indicating that the fate befalling Him was divinely appointed and approved. It was at this point that Peter allowed the arrest to take place. It is always important to discern what the will of God is regarding conditions that arises in our lives. This will enable us to meet divine expectations. Failure to do this will cause us to resist what God has ordained which has far reaching consequences. Seek to know God’s will and flow with it!
Prayer: Dear Lord, let me know what your will is and help me to flow with it.
Confession: I will flow with God’s will.
