Thursday, 26th April 2018:The words of pastors cannot be above that of God!

Scripture Reading: 1Kings 13:17-18
For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest. He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

Reflections:The young man of Judah was poised to bring glory to God in his life and ministry. Charged by God not to eat or drink water in anybody’s house, he refused the offer of King Jeroboam and left for Bethel. He however failed to pass this same test in Bethel. Surprisingly he fell to the deceptive scheme of a senior prophet. Taking the words of the senior prophet to be true, the young man of God deviated from God’s command and ate the food. Sadly his life and ministry ended immediately. This should not happen to you. Don’t let some pastors cause you to deviate from the will of God. Don’t ever forget that the words of pastors cannot be above that of God! It must rather be in line with what God has willed.

Prayer: Lord, help me escape the traps of pastors who are out there to deceive me.

Confession: I will not fall into the deceptive schemes of charlatan pastors.
