Scripture Reading: Hebrews 11:11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
Reflections: The writer of Hebrews puts together a number of characters from the Old Testament period to show that whoever you are and whatever dispensation you find yourself in, faith will remain a way of living you cannot ignore. For each character he mentions, he discusses or confirms how faith operates. In the case of Sarah, he indicates that even though she was old and barren, she received the strength to conceive through faith. The Greek word translated strength is ‘dunamis’. This is the capability and the miraculous power to do anything. One thing about “dunamis’ is that If you have it you can push through any barrier to get to your destination. The strength as used in the case of Sarah is therefore about the capability to push through when everything else points to the fact that you must quit. The strength produced by faith is therefore the power of God that rises up on the inside of you that will not allow you to quit until you see His glory. Like Sarah, Faith will give you strength in the journey to obtain the impossible!
Prayer: Oh Lord, I thank you for the strength produced by faith in me. I am unstoppable as I access breakthroughs in life.
Confession: I have strength through faith to push through until I receive my breakthroughs.
