Scripture Reading: Ezra 4:6 And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, wrote they unto him an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.

Reflection: The enemies of the Jews had plans to stop them from rebuilding their temple even though Cyrus the King had authorized their freedom from captivity. They launched the first attack of getting them to compromise their faith. This failed miserably. Then they switched strategies and employed the use of discouragement. This also failed. Finally they resorted to the use of accusations and peddling of misinformation about Israel. They wrote to Artaxerxes, king of Persia accusing Israel falsely and petitioned the king to stop Israel from rebuilding their temple. This time they succeeded and for the next 16 years, Israel was kept away from rebuilding the temple. It was a major set back to Israel’s progress. The weapon of false accusation is deadly and can be used to cause a major set back in your life by your enemies. Ask that God will deliver you from all false accusations and bring your accusers to shame.

Prayer: Oh Lord deliver me from false accusations and bring my accusers to complete shame.

Confession: All false accusations against my life shall not stand.
