Scripture Reading: Psalm 89:15
Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

Reflections: The Psalmist declares that those who know the ‘joyful sound’ will be blessed. This ‘joyful sound’, translated from the Hebrew word ‘terû‛âh’, is the battle cry of victory. It is a sound that is only made when the war is won. The Psalmist asserts that those in a covenant with God MUST discern this sound before going to battle. As God’s children, we should go to war with the unwavering belief that victory is assured. This insight is essential to encourage a child of God facing challenges to persevere until success is achieved. You cannot experience the blessings of victory without discerning and acknowledging the joyful sound.
