Scripture Reading: Psalm 125:3
For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.
Reflections: The Psalmist talks about the operation of the rod of the wicked and why and how it should be restrained from manipulating the life of the righteous. While a rod is a symbol of authority, the wicked refers to satan and his agents or any enemy of the progress of your life. The rod of the wicked is, therefore, the demonic authority that can bring you under affliction. Once its operation succeeds, the Psalmist hints that apart from the distress it will bring on the individual, it can also get you to even go against the will of God. As you reflect the righteousness of God, you stand in the position of divine authority to disallow the rod of the wicked from operating. Break this and every rod through prayer!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that every rod of the wicked resting on my life is broken today in your name.
Confession: The rod of the wicked will not prevail against my life.
