Thursday, 22nd September 2022: Engage the court of heaven!

Scripture Reading: Psalm 7:1
Shiggaion of David, which he sang unto the LORD, concerning the words of Cush the Benjamite. O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:

Reflections: David writes Psalm 7 as an appeal to the heavenly court to hear his case regarding the false accusations levelled against him by Cush. It is unclear why Cush resorted to such actions, but he may have opposed David’s destiny as Israel’s next king. When others are opposed to you, and what God has given you, they will use any opportunity to attack you with slander. They are also likely to incite conflict among you and others. Once you identify personalities with the propensity for defamation around you, you should not treat them lightly. Like David, you need to pray for help to the heavenly court, where God, the just and righteous Judge, will respond and stop them in their tracks. Engage the court of heaven!!

Prayer: Dear Lord, protect me from slanderers.

Confession: I am protected from slanderers.
