Scripture Reading: Matthew 14:28-29 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
Reflections: The disciples encountered Jesus walking on water. This was a rare occurrence for them. As they watched in astonishment, Peter expressed his desire to witness this supernatural occurrence for himself. Jesus’ response to his request was an invitation to enter the water. As he did so and began to walk on the sea, the others watched in amazement. They lost out on experiencing this for themselves because, unlike Peter, they had lacked the desire to do so. You will remain ordinary until you develop a strong desire to encounter the extraordinary in life. Desire is an irresistible passion to have something. It motivates you to fight on to achieve your goal. John 7:37 states that only those who hunger (desire) are granted the opportunity to act in the power of the Holy Spirit. Never forget that extraordinary experiences begin with a desire!
Prayer: Dear Lord, increase my desire to walk in the supernatural.
Confession: I desire to experience the extraordinary.
