Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 3:6
And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
Reflections: To be obedient is to obey a directive or a set of rules. Apostle Paul stresses in his teachings the significance of living in total submission to God’s will. He emphasises that in order to subdue demonic forces and authorities, we must attain total obedience. This implies that our ability to prevail in spiritual combat, even in the presence of greater spiritual power and tools, is contingent upon how closely our way of life conforms to the written word. Paul’s teaching is aptly illustrated by the incident of Sceva’s seven sons, who attempted to confront a demon and fled, wounded and naked (Acts 19:14-16). These persons were in direct opposition to God and lacked a relationship with Him. Living in perfect obedience therefore provides us with a strategic advantage in spiritual conflict.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to live in complete obedience to your word.
Confession: I live a life of complete obedience to the will of God.
