Scripture Reading: Act 1:10 -11And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.
Reflections: Just before the clouds will cover up this rare but glorious scene of Jesus ascending into the skies, the attention of the 120 disciples were redirected to the beckoning voice of two men who had mysteriously joined them. They were angels but had appeared in human form. They assured them that Jesus was going to return to the earth the same way they had seen Him check out. This information confirmed the words of Jesus in John 14:3 and instilled the needed hope in them. Angels, among others, are used by God to confirm His promises and will to His children so that they will hold on and never give up (Matt 1:18-20, Acts 27:23-24). As an heir of salvation (Heb 1:14), just like the 120 disciples, don’t rule out an angelic visitation to clarify and confirm God‘s promises and will for your life. In whatever form they choose to appear, they will ensure you become certain of what God has said!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for the role angels play in clarifying and confirming what you have said to me. Let them get to work.
Confession: I enjoy angelic ministration. They ensure I am certain of what God has said.
