Scripture Reading: Ezra 7:10
For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
Reflection: The Jews were returning home from exile in batches. The lead man in this particular batch was Ezra the scribe. He was armed with a letter from King Artaxerxes that gave him the authority to lead Israel in her spiritual restoration. He is described as a man whose heart had been prepared to seek the law of the LORD, to do it, and to teach it. What this means is that Ezra had always given his time and attention to studying and obeying the law of the LORD. This is what made him a man of sterling character and strong conviction and ushered him into his destiny of being used by God to bring spiritual restoration to Israel. Whatever you give your time and attention to has the power to affect the path of your destiny. You must therefore be mindful of what mostly takes your attention in life. Like Ezra, learn to give time and attention to studying and obeying God’s word. Remember, the word of God is a lamb to your feet and a light to your path ( Psalm 119:105 ). It will surely guide and usher you into your destiny.
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me give attention to the studying of your word and obeying its standards in life.
Confession: I will give attention to the studying of God’s word and obeying it. I will not miss my destiny.
