Scripture Reading: 1 Sam 21: 14-15
Then said Achish unto his servants, Lo, ye see the man is mad: wherefore then have ye brought him to me? Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? shall this fellow come into my house?

Reflections: David sought refuge in Philistine territory in an effort to escape Saul’s death threat. As he stood in front of Achish, one of the Philistine kings, he realized he had unknowingly stumbled into danger. Death stared at him. Escape appeared impossible. Suddenly, the idea to act insane occurred to him. This became his plan of escape! As he behaved irrationally, the king mistook him for a lunatic and ordered him to leave his presence. David utilized this opportunity and fled for his life. Like David, God will inspire you with solution- driven ideas! Remember, God is our constant help in times of need (Psalm 46:1).

Prayer: Dear Lord, fill my thoughts with an escape strategy anytime I find myself in trouble.

Confession: I am solution-driven!
