Scripture Reading: Psalm 32:10b
But he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.
Reflections: Translated from the Hebrew word ‘ chesed’, mercy means several things including ‘pity, compassion, forbearance, favor and gentleness’. It thus speaks of a package of God’s tenderheartedness exercised towards the needy. To trust in God on the other hand is to place your absolute confidence in Him such that you live without anxiety. In order to enjoy the package of blessings derived from the mercies of God, the Psalmist points us to the need to put our whole trust in Him. Trusting in God is therefore extremely important. Trust Him the more!
Prayer: Oh Lord help me to trust you in you the more!
Confession: I trust in the Lord. I encounter His mercies.
