Scripture Reading: Galatians 2: 4
And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage.
Reflection: Paul hints of the presence of false brethren among church members and cautions the Galatians about what these people seek to do. Their main aim according to the findings of Paul is to befriend people and slyly get them to compromise their faith. The fact that you meet somebody at church praying, singing and dancing like you do does not mean that that person is a genuinely born again spirit filled Christian. They may be there on duty by the devil to cultivate your friendship with the aim of gradually luring you away from the true standards of the gospel. It is time to watch who becomes your friend at church. Remember they may not be who you think they are. They may lead you into a life that you may live to regret later. By the Spirit of God, learn to discern who you relate with at church.
Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to see who really my friends at church are! Show me their motives for joining the church.
Confession: By the Spirit I will discern false brethren in my church. They will not be my friends. I will resist them in prayer.
