Scripture Reading: Proverbs 13:20
He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed
Reflections: A companion is someone with whom you spend a great deal of time. The author of Proverbs distinguishes between two types of companions: the wise and the foolish. He concludes that your kind will primarily determine your fate. Wise individuals respect God, shun profligacy, and take responsibility. Fools act the opposite. They disregard God’s message, lack forethought, and rarely improve their lives. Do not take the selection of companions in your life lightly. Be discerning!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me establish ties with only wise companions.
Confession: I keep company with the wise.
