Thursday, 19th December 2024: Living a Sanctified Life!

Scripture Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour.

Reflections: Paul admonishes the Thessalonians to remain sanctified, emphasizing that sanctification is God’s will for every believer. To be sanctified means to “set yourself apart for holiness” by rejecting sin and embracing a life consecrated to God. It is an ongoing process of aligning with God’s holiness (Hebrews 10:14) and requires discipline, particularly in how we treat our bodies, ensuring they remain vessels of honor for His use. Sanctification involves more than avoiding sinful habits; it encompasses our thoughts, desires, and actions. A sanctified life glorifies God, demonstrating reverence for His holiness and readiness for His service. It is not a one-time event but a daily commitment to yield our hearts and bodies to His will.

Prayer: Lord, help me to live a life that honors You, rejecting sin and yielding myself to Your will.

Confession: I am set apart for God’s purpose. I reject sin and live a life of sanctification.
