Scripture Reading: Numbers 24:8
God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows. He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee
Reflections: Balaam was hired by Balaak, king of Moab to use enchantment and divination to curse Israel. In the process of executing his task, Balaam discerned an unusual anointing on the people of Israel which made it impossible for him to accomplish his assignment. An anointing is simply the power of God that gives you a supernatural ability to function in life. Poetically Balaam described the anointing on Israel as that which gave them the strength of a wild ox; the capacity to destroy hostile nations, breaking their bones and scattering them with arrows; and the fearsome nature of the lion which makes it impossible for it to be aroused even when it is asleep. These descriptive words points to a divine framework which made the people of Israel completely untouchable. As long as you remain in covenant with God, abiding by His principles and standards like Israel did at the time, you are bound to also walk in the realm of the anointing that makes you untouchable. Remember that until any ‘Balaam’ in your life sees this anointing they won’t leave you alone! Walk in the realm of the anointing that makes you untouchable
Prayer: Oh Lord, enable me to respond to my covenant obligations and make me untouchable in life by your anointing.
Confession: I am a covenant child of God abiding by the terms of my relationship with God. I walk in the realm of the anointing that makes me untouchable.
