Scripture Reading: Acts 7:9-10. And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
Reflections: Joseph was hated by his brothers. This hatred led them to sell him to traders who were on their way to Egypt. Joseph therefore found himself in Egypt as a slave. Eventually from the position of slave, he was granted access to occupy the Prime Minister position of the entire country even though he was a foreigner. In reviewing his story with the view to determine how he rose from life’s struggles to such a level of prominence, everything points to divine alteration. An alteration is an action where a change is introduced into something that exists. Once the thing is altered, it’s original form or intent is changed to suit another agenda. God altered every event introduced into Joseph’s life by fate to eventually bring him into his destined heights. His selling off to the Midianite traders who were on their way to Egypt served as the initial point of divine alteration in his life since the original plan of his brothers was to kill him (Gen 37:17-28). God simply altered the plan to kill him and this sparked off a series of other alterations which guided his feet to scale up his given height. Like Joseph, God will alter every plan of your enemies concerning your life and ensure that the alteration will provide the pathway for your celebration in life.
Prayer: Oh Lord, alter every event in my life so that I will be ushered into my given heights in life.
Confession: Events that confront me are altered by God to provide the pathway to my destined heights.
