Scripture Reading: Luke 5:4
Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught

Reflections: As Jesus preached on the shore of Lake Gennesaret, a vast multitude of people pushed to get close to him to hear the word of God. Knowing that he needed a kind of dais to stand on to enable him reach out effectively to the crowd, he decided to use a boat he saw close by. Simon, the owner of the boat, consented to the request of Jesus. He helped Jesus push it off a short distance away from the shore and set Him up to begin his sermon delivery. After Jesus was done, he turned his attention to Peter and instructed him to let down his net to catch fish. Before he visited the shore, the fisherman had failed in their attempts to catch fish. Miraculously as Peter yielded to the directives, a bumper harvest of fish was recorded. It was evident that Jesus was rewarding him for using his boat. God always rewards his children for every support they provide unreservedly to promote His kingdom. Like Peter, your labour in the Lord shall surely be rewarded!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to support the work of the kingdom unreservedly.
