Scripture Reading: 1Samuel 2:20-21 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home. And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.
Reflections: Filled with gratitude, Hannah arrived at the temple with her little son, Samuel. She had come to hand him over to Eli, the priest. This was in fulfillment to her vow that she would give back the child to God to serve Him all the days of his life. By this act, she was demonstrating her faithfulness. It seemed as if she had ‘lost’ her only son but it turned out not to be so. Eli blessed her and asked God to compensate her for her faithfulness. Hannah left for home and as the years rolled on she gave birth to five more children (three sons and two daughters). Faithfulness yields rewards. Like Hannah, remain faithful in whatever you do for God and in whatever you pledge to do to advance His kingdom. You will surely be compensated for your faithfulness!
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me to be faithful to you in all my ways. Let me encounter every divine compensation that accompanies faithfulness.
Confession: God compensates His children for their acts of faithfulness. I remain faithful to Him.
