Scripture Reading: Joshua 2:24
And they said unto Joshua, Truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.

Reflections: Joshua sent 2 spies to map out the land of Jericho as part of his military strategy. The spies were almost caught on their mission but surprisingly, they escaped through the help of Rahab, a native of Jericho. According to Rahab, her decision to help them was driven by the fact that the entire land of Jericho had been cowed into fear by the news of how the God of Israel fights for his people. The spies could not help but rush back to Joshua with this information. ‘All the inhabitants of the land do faint because of us’, they told Joshua. This boosted the courage of the entire camp of Israel and served as their motivation to fight on to possess their possessions. The encounter of the spies with Rahab brings us to the understanding that God gives his children an upper hand over their enemies. This enables them to be on the winning side all the time. Like the people of Israel, God has also given you an advantage over your enemies by throwning them into fear. Truly you have the upper hand to win any battle!
