Scripture Reading: Esther 4:14
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?Reflection: Esther, by divine favor won the contest to become the queen of the Persian Kingdom. This was unprecedented since she was a mere Jewish slave girl. Even though she was cast down in life , God had lifted her up in a foreign land. As she enjoyed the protocols of this new and lifted up life, she was soon to discover its real purpose. This came to her full realization when calamity hit her kinsmen. Haman had planned to exterminate the whole Jewish race in the Persian Kingdom. To reverse this evil decree, Mordecai had approached her and asked for her intervention. As she tried to back out of the mission, the words of Mordecai ‘ who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? ‘ sent her into deep thoughts. She suddenly discovers and responds to the real purpose for attaining the position of queen by divine favor. She launches out and brings the needed intervention to the Jews. We are not promoted in life or lifted up just to enjoy better living. The niceties of a promoted life is only a side issue. God always has a purpose for lifting up your life and this purpose must be identified and fulfilled at all cost whenever it is due. Live to seek and execute the main assignment for which God brings you a lifting in this life.

Prayer: Oh Lord, help me to live a life where I seek to identify and execute the main reason for which you bring me a lifting in life.
