Scripture Reading: Matthew 16: 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Reflection: Jesus wanted to know the thoughts of people regarding his identity. He thus elicited responses from his disciples. All except Peter got the answer right. Jesus noted that the success of Peter in getting the answer right was because it was revealed to him by the Father. This introduces us to the subject of divine revelation. It is the key to uncovering mysteries and getting things right. As long as we can allow ourselves to be inspired by the Holy Spirit, we will be walking in the power of divine revelation. In this regard we will be enabled to unveil what is shelved in secrecy that God will like us to know. The book of Job rightly notes that ‘ there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding’ (Job 32:8).
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that I can uncover what is hidden by divine revelation. Help me to yield my spirit to your Spirit and cause me to walk in that power. Confession: My spirit is yielded to the Holy Spirit. I walk in the power of divine revelation. I uncover mysteries/secrets. I am enabled to walk in the will of God.
