Thursday, 14th December 2023: Focus on the future glory rather than the present sorrow!

Scripture Reading: John 13:31
Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

Reflections: During the Last Supper, Jesus told his disciples about his impending death and resurrection, which was required to save humanity. Despite knowing that it would result in his affliction, agony and shame, Jesus referred to this hour as his time to be glorified. His thoughts were not on the agony, but on the grandeur that would follow. He was able to see past the pain, which enhanced his endurance and motivation. Similarly, we must learn to focus on the glory ahead, rather than our pain, in order to find the courage to persevere until we achieve our breakthrough.

Prayer: Lord, help me focus on the future glory rather than the present sorrow.

Confession: I focus on the coming glory and not on the present suffering.
