Scripture Reading:Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Reflection: To be crucified means to be put to death by being nailed on the cross. When you are alive, you have claim to your life. You can do as you want to. But when you die you loose your claim to life. You do not exist anymore. To be crucified with Christ speaks of the fact that by accepting Jesus Christ as your savior, spiritually you have been put to death and as a result you no longer have claim to your life. You cannot therefore do as you want to anymore. Your life is now lived in Christ and your will completely surrendered to him. It is time to demonstrate that it is no longer you who lives but Christ. In this wise, whatever you do must be in the will of Christ. Don’t ever forget that you must prove this by your lifestyle. This is what Romans 12:1-2 is all about : ‘I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service’. You are a living sacrifice! Remember what is sacrificed has no more claim to its life!
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me to surrender my will totally to you.
Confession: i don’t live for my life anymore. I live for Christ. I don’t have any claim to my life. I walk in the will of God.
