Scripture Reading:2Kings 19:35
And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses. So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
Reflections: King Sennacherib of Assyria attacked Judah and captured its walls. He demanded that King Hezekiah of Judah surrender or face captivity. Hezekiah was frightened because he knew that Assyria had a larger army. So, he prayed to God for help. God sent a message through the prophet Isaiah, promising to protect Judah. The next day, Hezekiah’s army discovered that an angel of God had killed all 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. Sennacherib had to retreat in shame. Hezekiah’s prayer had unleashed a divine attack that defeated his enemy. Like Hezekiah, You can also initiate a supernatural attack against your enemies through prayer. Pray and trust God to fight your battles.
Prayer: O Lord, protect my life from the assaults of my adversaries.
Confession: God is my defense.
