Sunday, 7th August 2016: God is on the lookout for those who will acknowledge and make him known to others!

Scripture Reading: Reading:Matthew 10: 32-33
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Reflection: The 12 disciples listened attentively as Jesus gave out the marching orders. They had stayed with him, learnt from him and received of his anointing. Now it was time for them to step out and put what they had learnt and received into action. Jesus’s words ‘Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven’ clearly conveyed a key outcome expected of their association with Jesus–stepping out to replicate his work! From this we gain the understanding that no follower of Christ is called to just sit down and keep church pews warm’ After learning from Christ, you are expected to step out and make him known to others. Remember, we are saved to save. The word ‘confess ‘means to acknowledge and make one known publicly. God is on the lookout for those who will acknowledge and make him known to others. It is time to get to work, just as the apostles did. ! It is the only way by which many more people will be ushered into the kingdom.
